8 – Mathematician & Statistician

If you like to analyze data and perform complex mathematical equations, then this might be the field for you. Mathematicians and statisticians help solve real-world problems in a variety of industries.

They design experiments for product testing and development. For example, they may help design experiments to see how car engines perform when exposed to extreme weather conditions or analyze consumer data to help develop marketing strategies and prices for consumer goods.

The education level for someone is this field is typically a master’s degree, but some entry-level positions may accept candidates with a bachelor’s degree.

Expected growth: 30% higher than the average job growth.

Average annual salary: $84,000 – $103,000.

7 – Application Software Developer

If you’re interested in designing computer applications, like word processors and games, then an application software developer might be the right fit for you.

Developers create custom software for a specific customer or commercial software to be sold to the general public.

The typical level of education that most workers need to enter this occupation is a bachelor’s degree and strong computer programming skills.

6 – Physical Therapist Assistants

In this position, you would work directly under physical therapist. You would help patients who are recovering from injuries and illnesses regain movement and manage pain.

Most states require some type of license or certification, which can normally be done through an associate’s degree program at an accredited university.

5 – Nurse Practitioner

A nurse practitioner delivers advanced nursing services to patients and their families. They coordinates patient care and may provide primary and specialty healthcare.

They are able to diagnose diseases, perform physical exams and observe patients. Typically someone needs a master’s degree to become a nurse practitioner.

4 – Physician Assistant

Physician assistants, also known as PAs, practice medicine on teams with physicians, surgeons, and other healthcare workers.

Similar to a nurse practitioner they also examine, diagnose, and treat patients. Physician assistants often treat minor injuries, instruct and counsel patients, and order or carry out therapy.

Most physician assistants typically need a master’s degree from an accredited educational program. To be accepted into the program, you would need a bachelor’s degree and some patient care work experience. Most programs take two years of full-time work.

3 – Personal Care & Home Health Aide

A personal care and home health aid help people with disabilities, chronic illnesses, or cognitive impairment by assisting in their daily living activities.

They can even shop for groceries and prepare meals to meet a client’s dietary specifications. They can also give medications and check vital signs under the direction of a nurse or other healthcare practitioner.

To enter this field, you’ll typically need a high school diploma or equivalent. Though some positions do not require it

2 – Wind Turbine Service Technician

Wind turbine service technicians, also known as wind techs, install, maintain, and repair wind turbines. They climb wind turbine towers to inspect or repair wind turbine equipment.

They also collect turbine data for testing or research and analysis. Wind techs use safety harnesses and a variety of hand and power tools to do their work. Wind turbine technicians often monitor turbines from the ground.

Most wind turbine service technicians learn their trade by attending a technical school or community college. They also receive on-the-job training.

1 – Solar Photovoltaic (Panel) Installer

Solar photovoltaic (PV) installers, also known as PV installers, assemble, install and maintain solar panel systems on rooftops or other structures.

Their focus is on renewable energy sources. They plan solar panel system configurations based on customer needs and site conditions. They also connect PV panels to the electrical system

Solar panels convert sunlight to electricity and PV installers put these systems in place.

Although most installers need a high school diploma and typically receive on-the-job training lasting up to one year, some candidates take courses at a technical school or community college.
